Hi, Friends!  Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Kate.  I live in Philadelphia with my husband, Dan, and our dog.  They are the best part of my day.  I recently quit my full-time job as a Spanish teacher and embraced the grad school life at The University of Pennsylvania.  I’m studying Counseling and Mental Health Services.  Oh yeah, and we are expecting our first baby boy in early May.

I grew up in the Adirondacks of New York state and went to college nearby, too.  The Adirondacks have a special place in my heart; it is truly one of the most beautiful places in all the world!

Travel is my passion.  I caught the travel bug in college and have since traveled all over the world.  Traveling in college taught me to be independent and see the world in a new way, and I hope to share those adventures with you here, in this space.

The name of this blog is after my dog, Lucy, a six-year old yellow Labrador Retriever.  She is quite possibly the most adorable dog of all time.  At least I think so, anyway.

I have created this space as a way to document my life.  A keeper of memories, if you will.  I’m not sure what direction The Lucy Log will take, but I am excited to see how it transforms with me and my family over time.
